About Me
Brittany Tyler, LCSW (she/her)
I am a licensed clinical social worker with a passion for helping others recognize their own value and discover inner peace. During my career, I have worked in psychiatric and medical hospitals, a sexual assault center, and in an individual therapy setting. Individual therapy has been the path where I have found the most joy as I love providing support and encouragement for my clients and witnessing their personal growth and victories.
Each of these experiences have allowed me to gain a different perspective on the human experience and how we are all more alike than we know.
Psychotherapist
(Unofficial) Therapy Dog
Moose
His favorite past time is napping in the chair behind me while I work. You will likely see him during our sessions, chilling in the background.
(Unofficial) Therapy Cat
Jack
Jack also enjoys spending his time in my office while I am working. You may see a tail go across your screen from time to time.
Philosophy
I enjoy being interactive and engaged with my clients, but I do tailor my approach based on the needs and personalities of each individual. My approach is client-centered and may include the use of various evidence-based therapies, including CBT, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and others. I have also found Brainspotting to be a highly effective technique in promoting well-being and healing and love to incorporate this into the mix. Whatever approach is used, a central tenet of the work we will do will focus on self-compassion and positive self-regard as I have found these things integral to good mental health.
